Medical student receives important recognition
On May 14, the University of Azuay presented a recognition to Agustín Patricio Pintado Arias, a student from the Faculty of Medicine; an event in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was attended by authorities, faculty and students from our university community, family and friends of the honoree, and the general public.
The event began with remarks from Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who congratulated and thanked the student for his courage and dedication during this important moment. He also recognized the Faculty for mentoring our young people and preparing them to serve the community.
The student was immediately presented with an award for his act of bravery and professionalism demonstrated on May 05th, in the traffic accident that occurred in the Medio Ejido area of Sayausí.
In turn, Agustín Pintado, a student at our institution, addressed the audience, noting that it was an honor for him to receive this important recognition and mentioning that the most gratifying thing was having provided his help to those who needed it most.
Finally, Marco Palacios, dean of the Faculty of Medicine, read a letter of thanks from a family member of the victim, who praised the student's work, his ethical values, sense of humanity, and his education in our classrooms.
