Xavier Alejandro Ruiz, student of the Architecture career at the Universidad del Azuay, is one of the winning teams in the Latin America Hackathon vs. Covid-19 organized in June by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
"The event consisted of the fabrication of ideas and their development through business parameters such as scalability, business models and, above all, social impact", explained Ruiz.
During two days in which teams from all over Latin America worked to contribute ideas to face the worst pandemic the world has seen in more than a century.
The UDA student team was made up of people from four Latin American nations and worked to support parents and educators to serve as emotional, social and academic support for millions of children around the world.
“Being winners we enter an incubation stage and we are preparing all the content, the prototype, and the brand, we enter as a project 'Teach and plan to launch the service in each of the countries of which each member of the team is part' Ruiz concluded.
