Premiere of the work "Idyll silly or a bolero of loneliness"

On March 17, the University of Azuay; the Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art, and the Theater Company presented the play “Idyll bobo or a bolero of solitude” through a transmission on Facebook Live.

"It is a pleasure to be able to return to the theater and be here still in small numbers in our auditorium to witness this gift, this gift that the Theater Company gives us by presenting this work of inspiration by Ángel Felicísimo Rojas", Francisco Salgado said in the welcome, Rector of the UDA.

Genoveva Malo, Dean of the Faculty, also intervened, who emphasized the symbolic nature of the premiere date:

“It is the first week of class and we started with the hope of getting back together; the company has not rested during all this time and has seen the way to invent new spaces to be with us and to be able to offer that message of joy and poetry that art always brings ”.  

The work is based on "Idilio Bobo", a book written by Ángel Felicísimo Rojas, and takes us back to ancient times, where the only means of communication that existed were letters.

Andrés Peña, the protagonist of the story, through a letter exchange program with students interested in learning English, gets the love of a wealthy American student who was learning Spanish in Richmond, Virginia.

Jaime Garrido was in the general direction and adaptation; the musical direction was in charge of Carlos Loja; the actors were Francisco Aguirre and Samantha Villota and Ana Crespo, Samantha Villota, Carlos Loja and Jaime Garrido accompanied musically.
