School of Architecture: opening of the academic year
On February 24, the University of Azuay, together with its Faculty of Design, Architecture and Art, held the inauguration of the February - June 2025 academic year of the School of Architecture; an event in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers and students from our university community.
The event began with the words of Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, who addressed the public mentioning the value of carrying out these symbolic acts and emphasized the importance of expanding the mind and putting the human being at the center of a great society, where sustainability and care for the environment play a fundamental role.
In turn, Cristian Sotomayor, coordinator of the Academic Board of the School of Architecture, expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the authorities and for materializing the ideas that emerge in the classrooms. He invited young people to imagine and shape a better future for our environment.
Once the speeches were over, the keynote lectures were given by Claudia Altamirano and Francisco Coronel, renowned architects of the city.
