"In the River of Language," a work by Aleyda Quevedo

On April 24, the University of Azuay, together with its publishing house, presented the book "In the River of Language" by author Aleyda Quevedo Rojas; an event in harmony with the Sustainable Development Goals.
The event was attended by authorities from our institution, teachers and students from the La Asunción Educational Unit, family and friends of the author, and the general public.
This work brings together four essays dedicated to the Ecuadorian poets Lydia Dávila, Mary Corylé, Jorge Carrera Andrade, and César Dávila Andrade, and five in-depth interviews with the poets Reina María Rodríguez, Edgardo Dobry, Yolanda Castaño, Rafael Courtoisie, and Sara Vanégas Coveña. The book is accompanied by a small selection of their writings, so that their words and works complement each other magnificently.
The book presentation began with remarks from Genoveva Malo, academic vice-rector of the University of Azuay, who noted that this book is a celebration of art through literature and that it is of utmost importance for our institution to foster spaces for dialogue where poetry is shared within the community.
After her presentation, a rich dialogue ensued between the author and Cristóbal Zapata, where the audience was able to learn more about the work and the fascinating world of Ecuadorian poetry.
