Canadian Ambassador talks about relations with Ecuador at the UDA

On June 16, the Department of International Relations and the Faculty of Legal Sciences organized the conference on relations and trade between Canada and Ecuador, with the presence of the Canadian ambassador to our country, Sylvie Bédard.

José Chalco, Dean of the Faculty, was in charge of welcoming the ambassador and presenting the conference, emphasizing the ties that unite both countries.

"Relations between Canada and Ecuador have been strengthened in these years, and this is even more evident in these hard times that the world is going through due to the pandemic," said Dr. Chalco.

Then the ambassador spoke, who began by remembering that this 2020 marks six decades of diplomatic relations between Canada and Ecuador.

"We have grown a lot together and our foreign policies have common values," said Bédard.

Among these common values, the ambassador highlighted the passion for multilateralism, inclusion, human rights and clear rules in the international system.
