The university campus reopens its doors with responsibility

The University of Azuay has resumed its work in a progressive manner, under the supervision of a committee created by the Rector Francisco Salgado and integrated by the Planning Director, Fernando Córdova; the Director of the Medical Department, Fabián Jaramillo, the security area and the Human Resources Department.
For this responsible return, a security protocol has been established that includes, among some of the actions, the taking of temperature at entry (which will only be for a single access site) and the provision of masks made at the University through TEXLAB.
Shoe disinfection trays and alcohol-based disinfectants are also included in all accesses to the blocks, face shields in customer service areas and the diagramming of a signage and culture scheme in matters of biosecurity.
All this accompanied by an occupational health survey, constant training of staff and periodic disinfection of spaces, in order to guarantee the safety and health of our employees and workers and at the same time of our students and the general public.
In the first week, the maintenance personnel (construction, janitors, gardeners) returned to work and then it was the turn of the faculty, Treasury, Human Resources and Postgraduate secretariats
The opening of other dependencies (such as the Legal Office and the NAF) is foreseen according to a calendar and alternately in terms of the use of offices and jobs.
Approximately 25% of workers have returned to work, but teleworking continues to be prioritized for those who can work under this modality.
In particular, vulnerable groups have been identified: those over 60 years of age, women in the pregnancy or lactation stage, personnel with special abilities or catastrophic illnesses, who must continue with the remote modality.
“It is important to indicate that for the University of Azuay and its authorities, its priority is the human being, so the University is taking all the necessary biosafety measures and according to the law establishes it so that the re-entry of employees and workers it is done in an environment of trust and security ”, concluded Karina Vanegas, Director of Human Resources.
