Education and coronavirus, a "drastic" change

The uncertainty caused by the spread of the Covid-19 virus has spread throughout all walks of life and Education is no exception.

For this reason, the event “Challenges of basic education before, during and after the pandemic” took place on July 3.

"Our sector has had to face drastic changes in the use of strategies, as well as tools for the teaching-learning process," said Bernardita Quintanilla, Coordinator of the Schools of Basic Education and Initial Education.

Quintanilla added that the pandemic has forced to redefine "the participation of teachers, students and parents in this process."

Alegría Crespo, PhD in Education and director of online education at SEK International University, and Patricia Serrano, Rector of an educational institution, also participated in the talk.

For the speakers, in these times of uncertainty it is essential to revalue the role of the teacher, whose role has become visible again in times of quarantine, which has forced children and parents to attend their classes from home.
