Ecuador on the international scene

On June 11, the inauguration of the first congress on Ecuador on the international scene was held, organized by the International Trade and Business Club of the School of International Studies of the University of Azuay, with the aim of reintegrating students to normal activities.

The event consisted of a day with several invited speakers, among them: Estefanía Cando, Carolina Chandler, Matías Abad and Diana García.

This event revolved around business and international relations, taking into account a post-pandemic panorama, with the aim of understanding the new challenges that society must face and adapt to in the current economic environment.

To start the conferences, the intervention of Marcelo Calle, Director of International Relations, gave a brief opening remarks. Next, José Vintimilla, president of the International Business and Commerce Club, presented Calle with a present.

Subsequently, José Chalco Quezada, Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, intervened welcoming those present to the University campus and congratulated the various members of the aforementioned club and the School of International Studies. After this, José Vintimilla delivered the respective present to the Dean.

Then, the Coordinator of the International Studies career, Mónica Martínez, took the floor to concisely describe the dynamics of the congress and encourage entrepreneurs to take on the new challenges that this era represents in terms of trade:

"Talking about international business is not only covering this of the important transactions, strategies and skills that must be mastered when executing them."

“It is also talking about the thousands of social and economic realities that lie behind them, about the families that took risks to undertake, about good practices of ethics and value, the cultural respect that it requires, good living and justice, now, in addition, to the reintegration and economic reactivation that must be faced ”, added Martínez-

Later, José Vintimilla spoke about the various aspects of the event. "The objective of this talk is to provide a service to the students of the University of Azuay and to society in general."

He also spoke about the different speakers and the importance of the topics they will discuss for the panorama of Ecuador in international relations.

“The young business entrepreneur feels vulnerable and insecure, threatened by precariousness, by risks, by global instability, by the risks of the pandemic. So, this Ecuadorian entrepreneur must cling to dreams, what they imagine and put into practice all those values ​​that are fundamental in work and social life, ”Mónica Martínez finally added. In this way the conferences were declared open.
