Double day of Mining Engineering on natural resources

On July 22 and 29, the School of Mining Engineering organized two talks on the "Use of natural resources: potential, expectations and innovation in sustainable processes", with two exhibitors per day.

On the first day, the exhibitors were Ecuadorian Jorge Segovia and Colombian Oscar Restrepo.

"It is important to raise awareness of the use of our mineral resources, because there is ignorance and, I think, a bit of bad faith in certain criteria by political actors," explained Leonardo Nuñez, Coordinator of the School, adding:

"Who more than the Academy to refute with the force of reason and technique in the possibility that the mining sector is at the moment the complement to oil, which is what has its income in most of our country."

The event has about 300 registered from six countries.

Next week's event will be starred by the Ecuadorian Jhon Bolaños and the Colombian Rafael Mateus.

“The last topic of Dr. Mateus is very topical: the idea of developing a mining project in peace and harmony with the communities of influence; to demonstrate that today, state-of-the-art technologies are managed, clean production processes and with eco-efficiency that demonstrate that responsible, sustainable and sustainable mining can be done ”, concluded Nuñez.
