International Sports Day for Development and Peace

International Day of Sports for Development and Peace highlights the importance of adopting an active and healthy lifestyle to improve our quality of life.

In this aspect, sports organizations, institutions and society have worked together to maximize the impact of sport in building a more peaceful and sustainable world.

Francisco Sánchez sports coordinator of the University of Azuay points out the importance of promoting physical activity in institutions, so that young people and all officials can participate in different activities that help improve health, encourage exercise in daily life and help to prevent diseases in the short and medium term. 

He also points out that the practice of exercise is essential for any person, it is a tool that transforms lives and today we can speak not only of its relevance but of a moral obligation as an individual to be a promoter of a healthy lifestyle in any establishment. .

On the other hand, David Sarmiento, student at the University of Azuay and selected athlete from Ecuador, points out that sport undoubtedly inspires young people and that it helps contribute to development and peace in their communities. 

Sarmiento also affirms that sport is a powerful tool to teach young people different essential values ​​on a daily basis, he highlights discipline, perseverance and responsibility are qualities that one acquires by functioning in the sports field but that are undoubtedly very helpful for everyday life.
