Debate on the independence of Catalonia in International Studies

The November 21 School Committee on International Studies held a debate on the independence of Catalonia.

The event, which took place in the José Cordero Acosta Auditorium, was presented by the former Ecuadorian secretary, Monserrat Butiñá Martínez, director of the Casal Català foundation "Jorge Butiña i Cardona" of the city of Cuenca, an entity whose purpose is to spread the culture , traditions and contributions of Catalonia to the world.

The positions, in favor and against the independence, were presented, on the one hand, by the Catalan architect Joan Berni, president of the Catalan delegation in Quito, who described as legitimate the will of autonomy and independence of the Catalan people.

In opposition, the students of the School of International Studies, Martín Bernal, Génesis Guerra and Paola Ortega defended why independence intentions are not legitimate or opportune.
