Creative Ways to Teach English: A valuable contribution to teaching English
On September 19, the University of Azuay and its Publishing House presented the book “Creative Ways to Teach English” by authors Magali Arteaga, Grace Mogollón and María de Lourdes Moscoso.
The event was attended by authorities, teachers, administrative staff and students from our university community, educational units in Cuenca and the general public.
This book seeks to fill the gap in the compilation of strategies that have been applied in the Ecuadorian context with successful results so that teachers can use them in the different classroom environments in the country. Since the teaching and learning processes of English involve not only knowing the language, the book offers a set of dynamic strategies, which may vary from one context to another.
The welcoming remarks were given by Raffaella Ansaloni, vice-rector of research at our institution, who highlighted the importance of this book as a learning tool for teachers and students.
The book was presented by Martha Castillo, a research professor who has been contributing to the teaching of the English language in different institutions for several years. Castillo mentioned the importance of creativity in learning methods; this book will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the world of teaching this wonderful language, she added.
The official launch of the book was carried out by the authors; first, Magali Arteaga, pointed out that this book serves as a guide to test new learning methods and contribute to teaching processes and represents their commitment to the training of future teachers. In turn, Grace Mogollón, expressed her satisfaction with the book presented and highlighted the importance of connecting research with application within the classrooms, enriching academic experiences.
