Conversation on Covid, pandemics and vaccines

On April 28, the Faculty of Science and Technology organized the discussion "Immune response and vaccines against SARS-CoV22 dictated by Dr. Fabiola Osorio.

“Pandemics and infections have been with us for a long time and perhaps we, in our modern era, are surprised to be witnessing this fact, but if we look at the history of mankind, pathogens and infections have been with us for centuries and They have also changed our way of life a lot, ”said the speaker.

He then explored the global contagion and death rates left by the pandemic:

"This pathology is already positioning itself as one of the most relevant causes of death among adults, and not only among older adults, but also among different age groups, where it is possible that this virus has been gaining ground worldwide."

Similarly, he explained the stages of contagion - from early infection to severe inflammation - and the reaction of the human body to the virus with the different behaviors of antibodies.

To end the discussion, the doctor explained what are the differences between the vaccines that exist to combat this virus.
