Discussion "Ecuador - European Union Trade Agreement"

The 29 of May took place the first discussion on the trade agreement that Ecuador signed with the European Union, organized by the Department of International Relations and the School of International Studies of the University of Azuay, with the support of the French Alliance of Cuenca.

The reason for the event was to celebrate the week of Europe as the University does every year.

The talk was given by the Head of the Trade Section of the European Union delegation in Ecuador, Inmaculada Montero, who spoke about the agreement and how it benefits Ecuador when exporting or importing products from and to Europe.

Once his presentation was over, he gave a call to his right hand, Mónica Játiva, Trade Officer of the European Union delegation in Ecuador.

Játiva asked a series of questions in game mode to encourage student participation, promising bags with prizes to the winning team.

Once the game was over, there was a round of questions about the European Union.

Monica Martinez, Coordinator of the School of International Studies, said that the purpose of the discussion was to have first-hand information about Europe at the University and confirmed that more exhibitors will come in the future.
