We commemorate 100 years of the birth of Mons. Alberto Luna

On December 13 at the University of Azuay, the first of three days of the Symposium “Thought, life and work of Mons. Alberto Luna” began, an event that is framed in the fulfillment of the sustainable development objectives, mainly objectives 1: End of poverty, 4: Quality Education and 16: Peace, Justice and Solid Institutions.

In 2023 it will be one hundred years since the birth of Monsignor Alberto Luna Tobar; Commemorating this event is a way not only to remember one of the most outstanding figures in the history of Cuenca, but to recognize the importance of his contributions from theoretical reflection, faith, apostolate, political action and commitment. with those most in need. 

At this meeting, our rector, Francisco Salgado, pointed out that it is a great honor for the University to welcome the beginning of this Symposium in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of a person of universal recognition, in order to commemorate the life and work of this wonderful bishop. 

The symposium, scheduled to take place over three days, from December 13 to 15, will address relevant topics related to human beings, spirituality, science and culture, encumenism, human rights and academia. 

This meeting is undoubtedly a great contribution for the academy and each of its participants.
