Ambassador of the United States in Ecuador gave a conference at the UDA

The Ambassador of the United States in Ecuador, Todd C. Chapman, made a protocolar visit to the authorities of the University of Azuay and dictated the conference "Bilateral Relations and Academic Cooperation".

The diplomat expressed the importance of the Academy in forming the human capital of the countries, and assured that in his administration he will increase efforts to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between the universities of both countries.

"I know the importance of education and being a teacher; you are making an investment in the future of your nation and I admire your profession. My first job at 21 was being a teacher," said Chapman.

The ambassador reported that around 3.500 Ecuadorians are studying at universities in the United States and more than 4.000 young Americans are currently studying in Ecuador.

"Ecuador occupies the 16th place in the world with more students from the United States, this is a good ranking for a country with the population it has, there are many quality and interesting universities, such as the UDA", declared the ambassador .

The Rector of the University, Francisco Salgado recalled that one of the objectives of his administration is the internationalization of the University.
