Conference: Learning from Cultural Diversity, Protecting and Supporting
On June 17, the University of Azuay and the Salesian Polytechnic University held the conference "Learning from, Protecting, and Supporting Cultural Diversity" as part of the international project of the Educational Portal for Sustainable Cultural Diversity in Latin America (EPSULA).
The event was attended by authorities, teachers and students from our university community, EPSULA authorities and members, authorities and members of the Salesian Polytechnic University, and the general public.
This initiative, co-funded by the Erasmus+ program, aims to promote inclusion, sustainability, and respect for cultural diversity in educational processes in Latin America.
The welcoming remarks were delivered by Genoveva Malo, Academic Vice-Rector of the University of Azuay, who highlighted the importance of working together for sustainability in rural areas of Latin America. She emphasized that this is a beautiful project that requires the support of academia to work together to address fundamental issues of our contemporary world.
For his part, Libor Štěpánek, Director of the Language Center at Masaryk University, addressed the audience remotely. In his remarks, he emphasized the importance of shared learning and collaboration, thanked the universities organizing the event, and highlighted the importance of creating spaces like this one, which promote dialogue and collaborative work between institutions.
Once the presentations were over, the lectures took place, which addressed current issues related to the main focus of the project.
