On November 22, the University of Azua, Kultura (German Cultural Network) and the Federation of Students (UDAFE) organized the concert of classical music of piano and cello offered by the duo Karlsruher Konzertduo.

The event was attended by Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University; Martha Cobos, Academic Vice Chancellor; Jacinto Guillén, Vice-rector for Research; Andrés Pauta, President of the UDAFE; Thomas Klatte, honorary consul of the German embassy; Reinhard Armleder, guest cellist, and Dagmar Hartmann, guest pianist.

Karlsruher Konzertduo's guest musicians came to Ecuador to offer three concerts in Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca.

The Karlsruher Konzertduo has existed since 1998 and has established itself as a very successful and sought-after duo in Germany and abroad, mainly thanks to their victories in numerous international competitions.

The two musicians focus on classical-romantic literature and XNUMXth century music for their concerts. They are generally interested in discovering unknown composers and works; however, they are also dedicated to modern music.

Both Reinhard Armleder and Dagmar Hartmann have studied at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe, Trossingen and Berlin.

Since they were consolidated as a duo, they have won first prize in competitions such as Lorenzo Perosi in Biella (1999), in Moncalieri (1999) and in the Racconiggi Competition (2001), in France, they won the Pierre Lantier Concours in Paris (2000) and Chaville's UAFM contest (2003).

They have traveled to more than 60 countries and have participated in recognized national and international festivals such as the Beethoven Music Society Washington, the Schubert Society London, the Festival de Musique au Château de Bourglinster-Luxembourg, the Art-November Festival in Moscow, the Festival de Music of Haifa, the Rovinj International Music Festival and the Museu de Arte de São Paulo concert series.
