Commitment to the future: signing of an agreement between the University of Azuay, the Pumapungo Museum, and CELEC SUR

On August 28, the University of Azuay, together with the Pumapungo Archaeological Museum and Park and the CELEC SUR Business Unit, signed the Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement; an event aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event was attended by authorities and representatives of the aforementioned institutions, as well as the general public.

This agreement seeks to promote environmental education and energy sustainability through a historical perspective, integrating museological and museographic processes with a dialogue between scientific and heritage knowledge.

The event began with remarks from Monserrath Tello, director of the Pumapungo Museum and Archaeological Park, who expressed that the signing of this agreement represents a key partnership that combines academia, energy, and heritage into a shared future; an agreement committed to the care and sustainability of our environment.

Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, addressed those present, mentioning that the objective of this agreement is to preserve life from different fields of knowledge. He stated that there is no better place to do so than this Museum, where cultures converge and, from those roots, we can flourish with hope for the future.

Subsequently, the Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement was signed, which will promote the "Stories of Climate, Water, and Energy" project.

For his part, Miguel Andrade, manager of CELEC SUR, noted that this agreement seeks to combine efforts to significantly contribute to the care of our environment, providing strategic solutions for efficient water management and adaptation to climate change.

To close the event, a symbolic tree planting was held with the participation of the institutions involved.
