Chevening Scholarships: An Opportunity to Study in the UK

The British Embassy in Ecuador and the Department of International Relations of the University of Azuay gave an informative talk on October 21 about the Chevening scholarship program, which offers the opportunity to study a master's degree in the United Kingdom.

Alexandra Rivadeneira, Director of Communication and Events of the embassy, ​​mentioned that they receive "around 53.000 applications every year from more than 160 countries and 1.500 people are selected for the scholarship."

The criteria established by the program include having a third-level degree, having at least two years of work experience, and having demonstrated leadership experience.

Also have been accepted in one of the universities endorsed by the program.

The postgraduate course must not last more than 12 months and the scholarship recipient must return to their country of origin and stay there for at least two years.

“The scholarship brings many benefits, and is sponsored by the British government looking for good students, people who have work experience and skills in networking, people who have the ability to make things happen, "said Rivadeneira.

This program covers all expenses, including airfare from the country of residence, monthly stipend for accommodation and living expenses, coverage of tuition costs, visa expenses for the scholarship recipient, among others.

The process begins when the online application is submitted from the platform: www.chevening.org/apply, official page of the Chevening scholarships. To apply, the interested party must complete the application form and attach the required information in English.

Applications will be accepted from September 3 to 7:00 am on November 3 of this year

The Director of the Department of International Relations of the UDA, Cecilia Ugalde, thanked the British embassy and commented that "now more than ever we need to enter this competitive world with strength and be aware of all the options and opportunities that arise".
