Art and poetry at the UDA. Presentation of the book “César Vallejo. The cell of the poem

On December 5, the University of Azuay together with its Publishing House carried out the presentation of the book “César Vallejo. The cell of the poem” by the author José Luis Corazón; event that is framed in the fulfillment of the sustainable development objectives, mainly objective 4: Quality Education.

In 1922 the Peruvian poet César Vallejo published trilce, the book that transformed the understanding of poetry in the Spanish language. One hundred years later, the poet, essayist and professor José Luis Corazón resituates the ethical and aesthetic dimension of the capital work in his essay “César Vallejo. The cell of the poem.”

The figure of the cell with an allegorical, biographical and cultural significance serves the author to critically reconstruct a writing where the formal adventure is linked to the spiritual and physical experience of the great Peruvian poet.

The poem's cell is a lucid journey into the interior of Trilce, written with a magnificent literary pulse and supported by a solid bibliographic apparatus. Anyone who believes that there is nothing more to add on the subject would do well to visit these pages full of freshness and intellectual arrest.

In the presentation, our rector, Francisco Salgado, highlighted that this story is a collective construction between the Publishing House and people who have dreamed and been excited by the publication of this book, allowing readers to travel with the author in search of that recognized poet of the XNUMXth century.

The presentation of the book was led by Cristobal Zapata, editor of the work, and during it, an extremely interesting dialogue was generated with the author of the book, Professor José Luis Corazón.
