On June 17, the First Ibero-American Seminar on Administrative Law began, organized by the Chair of Administrative Law of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, by professor Guillermo Ochoa, which lasts for three days: Thursday, Friday and Monday.

In its inaugural stage, broadcast by the official page of the University of Azuay on Facebook, José Chalco, Dean of the Faculty of Legal Sciences, intervened, who mentioned that the event “is the affirmation and expression of Ibero-Americanism in an exchange of history and present, of experiences and academic-legal visions that travel the same path and that finally lead us to shape common objectives that are strengthened in the physical and virtual spaces of the University of Azuay¨.

The Dean thanked the teacher of the subject of Administrative Law as well as that of his students for the organization of this important event and, finally, he declared the seminar opened.

Then Guillermo Ochoa intervened, who clarified that the objective of the seminar is to identify and analyze proposals that start from extraordinary experiences useful for legal professional life. Similarly, he mentioned that this event brings together renewed academic contributions in the branch of administrative law characterized by its permanent and changing dynamics.

The socio-legal environment of the pandemic makes it clear that the central institutions of administrative law require a new analysis, new debates and theoretical and legal constructions. Because of this situation, this seminar was born ”, he added.

The three days of the seminar were built through contributions from experts in the field such as: Consuelo Reyes and Lorenzo Bujoza from Spain; Fabio Veiga from Portugal; Jaime Orlando from Colombia and Juan Pablo Aguilar and Guillermo Ochoa from Ecuador.

The trajectory and knowledge of the highest profile exponents allowed the participants to finish this seminar with the knowledge of a new criterion and perspective in this discipline.
