"Water for Peace for Local Stability and Prosperity” an event for World Water Day 2024
On April 4, the event "Water for Peace for Local Stability and Prosperity" was held at the University of Azuay, an event that is framed within the fulfillment of the objectives of sustainable development, mainly objectives 4: Quality education. and 13: Climate action.
With the common objective of contributing to global efforts for water month, the Municipality of Cuenca, ETAPA, CGA, EMAC, EDEC, CELEC, Elecaustro SA, Centrosur, FONAPA, Prefecture of Azuay, MAATE, Metallura and the University of Azuay , have joined forces for another year to work on organizing the agenda for the commemoration of Water Day 2024.
The welcoming words were given by Genoveva Malo, vice-rector of the University of Azuay, who pointed out the importance of making World Water Day visible as a source of life and peace, inviting those present to put a drop of water as a symbolic act. to care for and preserve this important resource.
In turn, José Francisco Gómezjurado Jaramillo, CELEC SUR manager, addressed those present and inaugurated the event.
The meeting featured the participation of several speakers who addressed the main topic “Water for Peace” from different perspectives and crucial axes.
