5k to celebrate 55 years of the UDA

On December 17, the UDA 5k race was held to commemorate the 55 years of the University of Azuay; It had a route from the Hospital Universitario del Río to our central campus, thus covering the entire Av. 24 de Mayo. 

Students, teachers and administrative staff from our university community participated in this meeting, as well as adults, young people and children from the city. 

Once the race was over, the awards were given by the Student Sports Association (ADEUDA), with Matías Sebastián Bravo as the winner of the general men's category, followed by David Ismael Vega, a student from our university community, and second place. third place Andy Joel Cedeño.

As for the general women's category, first place went to Elizabeth María Bravo, second place went to Paula Daniela Vega, a student at our University, and third place went to Gina Melania Ordóñez. 

In addition to the general category awards, subcategories were awarded for the diverse audience that participated in this meeting. The first place in the male category of students from the University of Azuay was David Ismael Vega, in second place Carlos Daniel Peñafiel and in third place Kevin Roberto Ochoa. As for the female category, first place was awarded to Paula Daniela Vega, second place to Paula Camila Quito and third place to Andrea Valentina Barzallo. 

In the male category of teachers of our institution, first place was awarded to Pablo Fernando Pintado, second place was taken by Ivan Felipe Orellana and third place was awarded to José Francisco Chalco. The teacher who took first place in this category was Sonia Magali Arteaga, in second place Anabel Patricia Barahona and in third place María Jose Gonzalez. 

The participation of our administrative staff was also awarded; in the men's category, first place went to Fredi Bolivar Tenesaca, second place went to Galo Ricardo Tenesaca and third place to Victor Alejandro Carchipulla. In the female category, first place went to Viviana Maribel Calle, second place was Ana Carolina Serrano and third place was occupied by Nelly Cayetana Palacios. 

Finally, there was the disabled category, with Orlando Emanuel Ñauta as the winner, Pedro Francisco Paredes in second place and Pedro Pintado in third place. 

The Azuay University supports and encourages both sports and the active participation of its university community in outdoor events; This event not only contributes to the physical and mental well-being of the participants, but also strengthens the sense of belonging and cohesion within the institution.
