Academic Mobility and Erasmus: an opportunity to train citizens of the world

On October 11, the III University Internationalization Fair was held, an event created with the purpose of promoting study opportunities and academic mobility internationally. The fair was organized by five universities in our city: the University of Azuay, University of Cuenca, Catholic University, Salesiana Polytechnic University and UNAE.

The event was attended by authorities, teachers and students from these institutions, as well as students from various schools in the city. In this context, Erasmus+ was presented, a European Union program that supports education, training, youth and sport in Europe, promoting educational mobility and international cooperation.

The event aimed to inform students and professionals about the undergraduate and graduate academic offerings of participating countries through their embassies and international institutions, to expand the educational and professional opportunities of Ecuadorians.

In the opening speech, Francisco Salgado, rector of the University of Azuay, highlighted how Erasmus+ seeks peace and understanding through dialogue, promoting the original idea of ​​the university as a place open to all that seeks to enrich its students, turning them in citizens of the world.

The program included informative talks on international studies, TEDex talks, International Academic Offering stands and other activities. This event seeks to promote student mobility, enriching participants and giving them a global perspective on their career and personal life.
