"Manual of Protocols and Events" by Natalia Rincón and Priscila Calderón

"Manual of Protocols and Events" by Natalia Rincón and Priscila Calderón

On May 25 at the University of Azuay, the book "Manual of Protocols and Events of the University of Azuay" was presented by the authors Natalia Rincón Del Valle and Priscila Calderón González. In turn, these authors perform professional functions within the UDA. The presentation of the book took place at the Hernán Malo Library, under the objective of quality education.

Natalia Rincón, in her moving speech, began by telling us that since her childhood she never expected her professional life to take this course. Recalling with nostalgia some interesting anecdotes, she highlighted the importance of improvisation as a skill that she learns throughout her career.

Another important section in Rincón's speech was the close personal and professional relationship he has with Calderón. At the end of her speech, Rincón expressed her gratitude to her partner for her tireless work during the pandemic, as well as to the authorities for her unconditional support.

We spoke with Natalia Rincón and she told us several interesting aspects that she did not express during the presentation at the Hernán Malo Library. -It is worth saying that it is the first protocol manual in an academic institution in the south of the country. Regarding the writing of the first manual, when I started in the department there was no one, that's when I started to generate the first manual, obviously it was not printed. Now when I left I left an established base so that Priscila can give her touch- Rincón commented.

Priscila Calderón's turn came and she began by clarifying that it is a text for the University of Azuay. She told us that the events and university activities that take place during the year are registered on her sheets, with dates of creation of the faculties and the classification of events. Calderón also thanked the Chancellor for teaching her key lessons for her work, stressing the importance of punctuality. And she ended her intervention by expressing that they want to launch a second edition called "Anecdotes of events."

Priscila also had statements for us, including her inspiration to dedicate herself to this profession. -When I was a student of Natalia, my love for organizing events began. She gave me the push to enter this world of events and I loved it, since then I haven't wanted to leave. Now we would love to make a book of anecdotes about the events, because it would be very special for our community,” exclaimed Calderón.

Francisco Salgado Arteaga, Rector of the University of Azuay, in his speech highlighted the work of the authors who have led the most important group of protocols in the city.

The protocol group organizes all the events that take place each week, for example: graduation ceremonies, book presentations, artistic events, among others.

The Chancellor also mentioned that, upon taking office, they faced the transition in the direction of events, when Natalia Rincón was the one who held said position, he recommended Priscila Calderón as her successor. This being an exemplary act where the importance of providing opportunities for young people to demonstrate their ability is highlighted.

In conclusion, nostalgia and gratitude were present in the emotional presentation of the book by Natalia Rincón and Priscila Calderón, they shared their memories and expressed their professional admiration and the bond of friendship that unites them. Finally, our Rector praised the work of the authors and motivated those present to pursue their dreams with passion and hard work, regardless of how old they are.
