UDA students present their book "From the idea to the movement"

On April 20 at the Hernán Malo Library of the University of Azuay, the book "From the idea to the movement" was presented. Roland Montaño, Santiago Rojas and Roberto Landívar are the authors of this book that was presented in conjunction with the University Publishing House.

Diego Larriba Calle made the presentation of the book, he is a teacher specialized in information design, multimedia, human-computer interaction among other branches. Additionally, he has extensive experience in projects and as a teacher in different subjects.

-You have created a book that combines narrative techniques, storytelling and motion graphics to take the reader on an introductory journey into the world of animation and audiovisual communication. The book is a complete guide that will serve as an essential tool for graphic design students and for those who want to enter the world of animation- commented Larriba Calle.

The text is divided into 4 chapters dedicated to a different aspect of animation and audiovisual communication. Communication and narrative, animation, motion graphics and production are the chapters that the book presents.

-The book is carefully designed to make it easy to read and understand the topics. In addition, the narrative is told through a character called Floki, an entertaining Viking who is entertaining to read further- added Larriba Calle.

- Do you need knowledge of graphic design to understand the book? - I asked.

-The book has in its objectives to contribute to graphic designers, but also to other careers that are related to graphic design. That is to say, with their skills they can be introduced to learning digital and traditional animation and more things- commented Montaño y Rojas.

-What was the inspiration and how long did it take to make the book?- I asked.

-From the beginning we were both motivated by animation, it is a field that we admire, we are not experts, but we do want to provide a tool for students or fans, so that they can learn something very necessary and beautiful. The elaboration took 10 months including corrections, in addition, we worked 4 months on the publication and everything that the editorial carries- exclaimed Montaño and Rojas.

The Rector of the University highlighted the presentation of the book as an example of work in the university community. The process of elaboration of the book, from the initial idea to its publication, involved students, professors and the Publishing House. The Rector highlighted the importance of this type of project for young people, since it gives them the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge in an academic and creative environment.

In addition, the Chancellor emphasized the fundamental role of teachers as mentors to students. The guidance and support of teachers are key for young people to achieve their academic and personal goals. Likewise, he spoke of the importance of young people being able to share their ideas and creativity through the publication of their work, which is a very gratifying achievement. Finally, the Rector emphasized that the book presented is an interesting and fun work, which invites readers to enjoy its content.
