Additionally, the Rector thanked the effort of the people in charge of locating the painting "The Tree of Paradise".

Regarding Marco Martínez Espinoza, his works have been in different countries such as: the United States, France, Switzerland and Great Britain. In 2003 he is invited by “Artist for Nature Foundation” together with 25 artists from all over the world to paint the dry forest between Peru and Ecuador. In addition, he has presented exhibitions in important galleries and museums nationally and internationally.

During the event the artist Marco Martínez Espinoza declared:
-This is a very important day in my trade as a painter, it is when the work dialogues with the public, from the creation stage in the workshop I think that my work should be shared in spaces of public and private collections. It has always been my commitment that a greater number of public look at the paintings, and in this way my works have entered the collection of different museums and universities. Today with much affection and gratitude, because my sons Juan Pablo and Andrés Martínez Moscoso studied and were professors at this university. For this reason I deliver this painting "The Tree of Paradise" from the series Los iluminados. To illuminate the cultural and educational work of the beloved University of Azuay- expressed Martínez.

In the catalog there is a part that talks about the artist's university education and how it contributed to his training in painting. -I entered the Faculty of Architecture of Cuenca, graduated and practiced the profession for approximately 20 years, so I acquired important experience, but what attracted me above all was art. The day came when I ended my life as an architect to dedicate myself exclusively to painting. So, rather I had to overcome the rationalist and scientific guidelines of academic training. What helped me were the bases of watercolor and drawing that I learned at the Faculty- added Espinoza.

Currently, Marco Martínez works in engraving and researches new technical procedures in his workshop in Cuenca de los Andes, where he works and lives.
