Honorary Professor Roberto Todeschini

Honorary Professor Roberto Todeschini

On Friday, February 21, Dr. Roberto Todeschini was appointed as an honorary professor and the closing ceremony of the "Data Analysis Course: Methods and Strategies" was held.

Todesquini is a senior professor of Chemometrics in the Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Milan-Bicocca, where he founded the research group in Chemometrics and QSAR in Milan.

He has published 250 indexed articles and 5 specialized books. He is a member, and was president, of the International Academy of Mathematical Chemistry; academy that includes some Nobel prizes. Since 2006 he is Associate Professor of the University of Azuay, with whom he has collaborated since 1988. He is the mentor for the creation of the research group in Chemometrics and QSAR in our university.

In 2015, the Consulate General of Ecuador in Milan awarded him the Juan Montalvo Prize for his scientific contribution. It stands out among the 1% of the world's leading researchers of all scientific disciplines.

With respect to the course "Data Analysis: Methods and Strategies", various approaches were presented for the analysis of data from multivariable systems, from the point of view of the exploration of the multivariate structure, application of modeling methods, as well as the fusion of databases and multicriteria decision methods.

The analysis of data becomes important with the advancement of computer technologies, since it is the computers that allow the development of in silico modeling to understand phenomena of high complexity and that require intense computational calculation.

Advanced data analysis tools are a key aspect to extract the maximum information from multivariate systems to develop scientific research at the highest level, in order to guarantee its best dissemination in the scientific community.
