Launch of Universidad Verdad Nº 75: Gender, Feminism and Sexual Diversity

The 75th issue of Universidad Verdad is published this month with the Publishing House of the Universidad del Azuay. This scientific journal of Social and Human Sciences is a semi-annual publication that goes through a rigorous system of academic peer review, the subject for this issue is Gender, Feminism and Sexual Diversity.

The magazine, which has 34 years of experience, with 74 printed numbers and a rich tradition of work in research, discussion and academic dissemination, seeks to contribute to the knowledge and development of peoples and their societies.

This number constitutes a special milestone, for its format and theme. This is the first issue of the Universidad Verdad Magazine that also appears in digital format, indexed in the DOAJ Open Access Magazine directory. The theme of this issue, Gender, Feminism and Sexual Diversity, has become an area of ​​great importance in the academic world debate and also within families and society in general.

The number has interesting contributions that reflect on gender, feminism and sexual identity as a cross-cutting theme that relates to memory, literature and narrative, television fiction, body, family, among others. International researchers participate in it, such as: Marta Cerezo, Beatriz GonzálezdeGaray, María Marcos, Silvana Tapia, Karen Barahona, Cesibel Ochoa, Cayetano José Aranda Torres, Rafael Crespo, Fabián León, Lorena Escobar, Isabel Gil, who create a dialogue from different latitudes and disciplines.

As its Director, Catalina González-Cabrera, clarifies in the editorial note, “currently, excellent gender studies or feminist studies are being carried out within university and research centers, in order to disseminate empirically and scientifically the current situation of the fight for equal rights ”.

From Universidad Verdad, we hope that this scientific delivery will shed light so that in the future progress will continue in gender studies.
