New edition of the Memoirs of the Ecuadorian Academy of Language

"If a language does not serve to set us free, it does not serve its fundamental humanistic function."

With this phrase she opened this December 5 her exhibition Susana Cordero, Director of the Ecuadorian Academy of Language, during the launch of the 78th edition of “Memories of Ecuador”.

This publication has been the means of dissemination of the thoughts and creations of academics in the country that belong to the Ecuadorian Academy of Language.

Cordero expressed his joy at the launch of this issue and stressed that this project has been published since the time of Brother Miguel, former President Luis Cordero, Pedro Fermín Cevallos, Honorato Vázquez, among other illustrious characters.

This book includes the intellectual production of language scholars throughout the year 2018: essays, speeches, references to cultural life and citizen life.

“The book is a record of what the Academy does, which is the oldest cultural entity in the country, so that its activity is not in the air, but is recorded so that it remains a history of what it has done as soon as to the culture and care of the language in our country, ”concluded Oswaldo Encalada, a member of the Ecuadorian Academy of Language.
