Permanent symposium on the University

Permanent symposium on the University

On November 25 and 26, a new edition of the Permanent Symposium on the University was held at the General Auditorium of the University of Azuay, within the framework of the II National Seminar on University Thought, this time under the theme "The University Today, Perspectives and Challenges."

The meeting was opened with the keynote speech delivered by Florinella Muñoz Bisteri, Rector of the National Polytechnic School.

The main objective of the event was to create a space for the University to look back on itself, and to review an always open debate regarding its work and relevance.

During the speeches of the exhibitors, the importance of keeping the University oriented with the context of the present was emphasized, but still projecting into the future and without renouncing its autonomy.

“Currently we have to find balance with the changes. Those who seek change more earnestly are young people through their training at the University to constitute something different, ”said Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University of Azuay.
