Investiture of students of the Postgraduate Department

The 21 of October, in the General Auditorium of the University of Azuay, the investiture was carried out to the students of the Postgraduate Department. Students graduated with Masters in Criminal Law, Organizational Health and Safety at Work, Comprehensive Audit and Financial Risk Management, Inclusive Basic Education, Environmental Management, Quality Management and Food Safety and Traffic, Transportation and Road Safety.

The board of directors was made up of Jacinto Guillén, Vice-rector for Research; Catalina Serrano, Director of the Postgraduate Department; Mateo Coello, Academic Coordinator of the Postgraduate Department; Iván Orellana, teacher representative; Andrés Torres, teacher representative; Natalia Rincón, representative of the graduates; Maribel Guachichulca, worker representative before the Postgraduate Council; Diego Rojas, representative of the students and Jenny Ríos, attorney secretary of the Academic Vice-Rectorate.

The ceremony began with the intonation of the National Anthem of Ecuador. Next, Catalina Serrano took the floor and spoke about the importance of the academic presence in the life of each individual, in addition to the effort involved in carrying it out, she stressed the satisfaction that the student can feel when completing one of their academic stages.

Afterwards, the 43 students who made up the promotion of 2019 graduates from the Postgraduate Department were appointed to deliver the diplomas.

Then, Santiago Auquilla León - representative of the graduates - read the speech he prepared for his classmates and authorities: `` Responsibility is one of the virtues that must be characteristic of the students, based on this all the objectives can be met proposed, '' said Auquilla and added:

'' Each of us will dedicate this achievement to the people who accompanied us on this long journey. Pride and happiness are feelings that come to all of us inevitably. ''

Subsequently, everyone present sang the lyrics of the Anthem of the University of Azuay. The audience remained standing so that the recent graduates can make their official exit while school officials and students' relatives accompanied them with applause as a gesture of recognition and esteem.

To end the event, Juan Pablo Serrano, a graduate of the Master's Degree in Criminal Law, commented on how enriching it was for him to culminate with such an important stage of his life. 

'' All teachers knew how to transmit every idea, every concept, every argument related to the subject; They also acted as great friends in this study period. Honestly that was something that filled us with security and motivation for all of us, '' concluded Serrano.
