Presentation of the fourth issue of the magazine Casa Tomada

The launch of the fourth issue of Casa Tomada magazine took place on October 23 in the Hall of Honor of the University of Azuay.

The event began with a warm welcome from the Rector of the University, Francisco Salgado, who gave way to the words of Eliecer Cárdenas, director of the magazine and founding member of the collective 'Casa Tomada'.

Cárdenas said that the magazine is a collection of writings by members of the group such as Sara Pacheco, René López, among others.

In addition, he said that it is a kind of tribute for the forty-year anniversary of his work Dust and Ash. Then the director of the 'Casa Tomada' Collective, Carlos Pérez Agustí, spoke, who mentioned that becoming a reader in the XNUMXst century is not easy, but when one has achieved it, one enjoys absolute perfection.

On the other hand, he touched on the topic of digital reading and assured that today the problem is not if you read little or read a lot if not, rather, what is read and how it is read.

He also said that “only those who read books and think for themselves will be free. In the future, reading will be an act of rebellion. ”

Pérez closed his words with a reflection about reading and said that he does not read to be a reader and does not write to be a writer; It is read and written to understand the world.
