The UDA is declared as a smoke-free 100% space
On September 20, the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) - through the 6 Zonal Coordination - certified the University of Azuay as a 100% smoke-free space.
The event was held on the 50 years square of the University, together with the presence of teachers, administrative staff, students and media.
The music and song in the presentation of the Theater Arts students started the event.
The University of Azuay is the first university in Cuenca to obtain this certification.
The ministry, through the “Ecuador Tobacco Smoke Free” campaign, supports initiatives that promote the prevention of both tobacco consumption and other addictive substances.
"Today is an important day to congratulate the University of Azuay, for adhering to this important initiative that helps reduce pollution by tobacco smoke and in turn, improves the quality of life of all people," said Rosana Moscoso, official of the ministry
The event culminated in promoting the University's campaign: “don't smoke, better share,” with the delivery of gifts to those present.
