Agreement between EMOV and the UDA

The signing of the agreement between the Municipal Public Company of Mobility, Transit and Transport of Cuenca (EMOV EP) and the University of Azuay for the creation of a web application and digital mobile in the school transport, with the purpose of monitoring the safety of the students who mobilize daily to their educational centers.

The objective of this agreement is to administer, regulate and control the activities of management, execution and operation of the services related to the mobility, transit and land transport of the canton. Also, the function of this application will be to share with parents the distances, locations and speeds at which these school transports are conducted, thus creating a safe environment for the benefit of citizens.

Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University of Azuay, said he was happy to receive Juan Carlos Aguirre, who was a distinguished professor at the UDA and now assumes the management of EMOV and the commitment to city mobility.

Aguirre replied that "for EMOV it is very satisfactory to be able to reach an agreement, where the academy fulfills its social function with the community for the benefit of those who are our greatest concern, our children. At the same time I am pleased to make this agreement, knowing that I belong to this house of studies to which I have a lot of affection and I appreciate 17 years ago ”.

"The EMOV tries to stop being a sanctioning company that pretends to be a training company, and in that way the universities are our great strategic ally, we appreciate this opportunity and we are always at your service," the official added.

This project has the participation of six students of the School of Systems and Telematics Engineering of the Faculty of Administration Sciences, who will be responsible for implementing this digital application in the operation of school transport, and will do so under the modality of internships established in the Internal Human Talent Regulations.
