Conversations to promote and accompany learning

The Permanent Symposium “Conversations to promote and accompany learning in and from educational spaces” was held at the General Auditorium of the University of Azuay in July.

Francisco Salgado, Rector of the UDA, said: "This space helps us to reflect on higher education, where it has to be for aesthetics and ethics, to do good with great sensitivity."

During the week and in the morning and evening hours there were also talks with Professor José Emilio Ochoa, with the aim of reflecting on the educational model, through two activities.

The first, focused on progress and challenges in the complex relationship between education and development and, the second, a workshop aimed at teachers, to review together, elements that facilitate the construction of classroom interactions to promote student and teacher learning .

For the University of Azuay, it was an honor to have the presence of Professor Ochoa, who is the main professor in the Communication career of the Polytechnic School of the Coast (ESPOL).

In recent years, Ochoa directed the development of training materials for risk management in Ecuador, and coordinated the university initiative called the 2035 Agenda to propose goals and strategic actions for Ecuador's higher education system with a horizon of 2035 per year.

Ochoa said he was pleasantly surprised by the educational model that our University manages: "The UDA model demands a kind of knowledge management model to get there, a kind of theory of change."

The educational model of the University of Azuay is of a humanistic nature, of a tolerant, open, flexible and free spirit, placed at the service of others. A community whose mission is to train people, develop science and serve society.
