Presentation of construction prototype samples
On the morning of the 8 in July, in the design yard, the real-scale prototypes of exercises that were carried out within the classrooms of the second cycle of the Architecture career were presented.
"Principles of construction" is denominated this sample that corresponds to the final delivery of the Chair of the School of Architecture that presented the public exhibition of final results, prototypes on a real scale, of exercises carried out within the classrooms.
Santiago Vanegas, Coordinator of the School of Architecture, explained: "The entire cycle students have done small practices and the day of the presentation we are contemplating. With this activity, theoretical education becomes practical education, that is, learning by doing ".
This sample is the basis of two important subjects in the new curriculum of Architecture, the area of structural logic and the area of technology and production.
This subject mixes topics of structural calculation with practical subjects taken to the construction, that is to say, the students learn what they structure through practical models in the classrooms.
"The jobs are very good, the children and the teachers are motivated, because it is possible to make an important change in education and that the classrooms become spaces for reflection and new proposals for construction," concluded Vanegas.
