First meeting of the Business Directory of the UDA

First meeting of the Business Directory of the UDA

On Monday 20 of May, at the Hernán Malo Library, the first meeting of the University Business Directory was held, a consultative council formed by the University of Azuay and the private sector companies Graiman, Indurama, Grupo Vásquez and Grupo Ortiz.

From this initiative, it is intended to create permanent advice on key issues for the academy from the economic-productive point of view and vice versa.

Francisco Salgado, Rector of the UDA, indicated that this resolution has been taken to provide new opportunities for young students, since this program has projects of coordination and articulation of the academic processes for local, regional and national development together with the productive sector.

The Directorate will work on making coordinated proposals to work on advocacy issues for economic development, within which it was agreed that the two main axes will be based on the analysis of connectivity, mobility and land management linked to industrial land and the linkage of students to the reality of the economic-productive sector.

Its objectives also seek to link the academic and research processes with the productive processes of the Cuenca canton to strengthen these sectors and build, through an articulated work, proposals for local and regional development.

Juanita Bersosa, Executive Secretary of the Board, explained that the meetings will be held every three months on a permanent basis.
