Delivery of certificates to participants of workshops with FEDEC

The 13 of May, in the Multiple Use Room, took delivery of certificates to the participants in the courses "Fundamentals of Safety and Industrial Hygiene" and "Virtual Environments of Learning in Education", which had a duration of 30 to 45 hours.

The board of the act was formed by Francisco Salgado, Rector; Martha Cobos, Academic Vice-Rector; Eliana Bojorque, Rector of the Educational Unit La Asunción; Carmen Iglesias, Representative of the FEDEC (Federation of Catholic Education Establishments of Azuay), and Miriam Briones, Director of the Department of Continuing Education.

The University and FEDEC have signed an agreement to train teachers of educational institutions, through the departments of Continuing Education and Open University of the University of Azuay.

In this framework, the workshop on industrial safety and hygiene was held, which sought to promote among the participants the culture of safety through prevention, and to train members of the Joint Committee on this matter.

The second course aimed to make a critical reflection on educational theories, pedagogy and didactics in the context of teaching work with the new information and communication technologies (ICT), and their curricular integration.

"These courses have been very well received and are clearly an opportunity for teachers from our institutions and allied institutions to be aware of the new trends that exist, so we certainly hope that next workshops will be given integrating current issues," he said. Carmen Iglesias.

The certificates were delivered both to the participants of the two courses and to the instructors.

"At the beginning it was a little difficult, but the teachers adapted to the virtual media looking at it as a good teaching strategy, as well as a good way to connect with students who are digital natives themselves," said Carlos Guevara, one of the instructors, and added:

"I believe that these workshops should be given more often because as teachers we should always be aware of new methods to reach our students."

The event ended with a group photograph of the authorities, workshop instructors and teachers who received their certificate of approval.
