The UDA welcomes the Hall of Communication

In the framework of the celebration for its 30 years, the School of Communication hosted the March 19 the XV Hall of Communication, organized by the Citizen Observatory, a group composed of eleven social institutions that seek to create a space for awareness and reflection on the production and consumption of communicational content.

The objective of this initiative is to develop in the community a critical thinking towards the media messages that can be considered sexist.

"We need these spaces not to normalize gender violence and gender stereotypes that are repeated in the media offer and in advertising," said Ximena León, representative of the Gamma Foundation, one of the eleven institutions that make up the observatory.

The students who visited the Salon received a workshop, toured a sample made up of different advertisements and voted the most and least sexist ads and campaigns.

In addition to the Communication students, students from Graphic Design and Marketing schools participated in the initiative.
