The MingaLAB 2019 starts living in Design

In the framework of the activities prior to the MingaLAB 2019 event, a working day of the students of the Architecture career in the Design courtyard was held on Monday 14.

The students worked on the development of prefabricated building systems at the level of floors, roofs and enclosures, executed with criteria of optimization of resources, materials and cost per square meter.

The architects Pedro Espinosa and Ana Llerena explained that a selection was made of the four best proposals presented by the students of the subject Construcciones V to be constructed as a summary (a corner of approximately one square meter), in real scale and with the materials proposed by the students.

"There are interesting approaches proposed by the students, such as enclosures with brick plates with a chamber, prefabricated terrocement panels, pressed reed panels and structures in steel frame, wood and steel," said the teachers.

MingaLAB is an event with national scope that seeks to encourage research in the area of construction from a vision of resource optimization.

This year will consist of two parts: an academic seminar that will be attended by researchers from participating universities and international figures, and construction days where teams of researchers from national universities will test prefabricated and sustainable architectural constructive solutions.
