Faculty of Administration Sciences fulfilled 48 years
"The objective of all those who have passed through this Faculty, whether teachers or administrative, has not only been to train professionals, but rather to train people for a productive life, human beings who serve society for the benefit of those who need it, It is an honor to be in charge of this Faculty. "
With these words summarizes Oswaldo Merchán, Dean of the Faculty of Administration Sciences, the 48 years of this faculty held from Monday 3 to Friday 7 of December.
The Laboratory of Simulators of the Faculty was inaugurated on the first day. For its use, students will work in groups, enter the system and enter their management alternatives and strategies; At the end of the simulation, the machine will evaluate them by means of a score.
"They are tools that go beyond the practice of the exercise that is done in the classroom, they are simulators of a reality. These are systems where students will compete in each of their areas of knowledge, be it marketing or entrepreneurship, "commented the Dean.
That same Monday began a cycle of conferences. The first was "Fiscal Sustainability in Ecuador - 2017", by economists Silvia Mejía, Luis Pinos and Mauro Calle.
On Tuesday there were two events of this nature: Luis Pinos returned to talk about "actuarial mathematics" in the morning and, in the afternoon, the economist Bladimir Proaño addressed the issue of "business finance".
On Wednesday there were also two conferences: "ERP Project" by engineers Catalina Astudillo, Juan Manuel Maldonado and Iván Andrade, and "The VAT in Ecuador, a cumulative tax", dictated by Dr. Boris Barrera.
On Thursday morning the second edition of the magazine UDA-AKADEM was presented, in an event that included a board of directors made up of Francisco Salgado, Rector of the University of Azuay; Martha Cobos, Academic Vice-Rector; Jacinto Guillén, Vice-Rector of Investigations; Oswaldo Merchán, Dean of the Faculty and Ximena Moscoso, Subdecana.
In the presentation, the authorities expressed their gratitude for what made this edition possible and explained, in addition, the process of gestation of the journal, from the creation and design to the selection of published research papers.
"A group of professors from the Faculty of Management Sciences conceived in 2014 the idea of creating a journal, with the certainty that spaces for reflection on scientific topics are essential in the academic field, and then worked to make the idea matures, "commented Ximena Moscoso.
To finish the event, the second edition of the magazine was delivered to the public and the Subdecana encouraged both teachers and students to publish their work in the magazine.
That afternoon another conference was held, "Audit of management, a business and risk approach", by the economist Teodoro Cubero. On Friday morning, the last exhibition took place: the engineer Esteban Crespo referred to the "Risk Management".
That December 7, as the culmination of the week of events, was the Solemn Session, which began with the words of Oswaldo Merchán.
During the evening homage was paid with different plates to the teachers who are retired and to those teachers who complete 25 teaching in the Faculty. Plaques were also given to teachers who have won contests at conferences
