Round table on the Ecuadorian economy

The November 28 in the General Auditorium of the University of Azuay took place the round table on "Ecuador, Economy and Perspective", with the presence of prestigious economists of the city.

Rodrigo Mendieta, Dean of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Cuenca; the political analyst Diego Delgado, and Andrés Robalino, Executive Director of the Chamber of Industries, Production and Employment.

"We seek to address the perspectives of the Ecuadorian economy and, in that framework, the main challenges in both the short and long term," said Silvia Mejía, coordinator of the debate.

One of the most critical points of discussion was the probable adjustment in the Ecuadorian economy, given the high indebtedness of the country.

The panelists sought - by applying academic, economic and political perspectives - possible alternatives to the current situation.

At the end of the debate, the students presented their opinions and posed questions to the members of the table.
