Participative workshop of the CES in the UDA

The Higher Education Council (CES) held on Thursday 13 in September at the University of Azuay the participatory workshop for the diagnosis of the implementation of the Regulation of Creation, Intervention and Suspension of Universities and Polytechnic Schools and Sanctions Regulation.

Martha Cobos, Academic Vice-Rector, welcomed the academic advisors of the CES, Carmita Álvarez and Enrique Santos, and highlighted the agency's effort "to understand the needs of Ecuadorian universities."

Cobos added that it is important for institutions of higher education to understand the new contexts and propose new projects, since times change and must be adapted to the new requirements of education.

This workshop held in the city of Cuenca is the third of the four that have been held in the country. Previously, the CES visited the San Francisco University of Quito and the Laica Eloy Alfaro University in Manta; later it will be done in the city of Guayaquil at the Universidad Casa Grande.

"We wanted to go to the territories and organize these participatory spaces," said Carmita Álvarez.

The workshops have the participation of the different procurators of the universities, who, from various techniques such as brainstorming, problem tree, SWOT matrix for the analysis of the regulations, deliver at the end of the work a document with the suggestions for the reform project to the RCISUEP (Regulation of Creation, Intervention and suspension of Universities and Polytechnic Schools) and RS (Regulations of Sanctions).
