The UDA recovers the words of Monseñor Luna

The University of Azuay presented the book "The Word of Monsignor Luis Alberto Luna Tobar", a compendium of the homilies offered by the Archbishop of Cuenca in the morning of nine thirty in the Cathedral of La Inmaculada.

The event, which took place at the 18 in July, began with the recording of one of the homilies that filled the silence of the General Auditorium, while the face of the former Chancellor and professor of the UDA was formed on the stage.

Rector Francisco Salgado welcomed and spoke directly to the man who was appointed as Archbishop of the Azua capital in 1981 and who held the position of Chancellor of the University of Azuay until the year 2000.

"Your words elevated us in the sermons, they moved us, they touched us, they challenged us; this book commemorates and remembers some of your homilies in the years when we had you as the'quese Monse '".

Then spoke Maria del Carmen Ochoa Palacios, manager of the book and teacher of the University, who recalled that the homilies of Monseñor Luna changed their listeners "the perspective of life" and stressed that they make up the memories of the man that Cuenca adopted for always as one of his most beloved children and one of his wisest voices.

The third speaker was Fray Robin Calle, Superior of the Community of Discalced Carmelite Priests of the City of Cuenca, the same congregation of Luna Tobar, who spoke of Monseñor as an "artist of the word", but also as a "regular listener" .

Finally, Martha Cobos, Academic Vice-Chancellor and project director, thanked all those who made the book possible and, above all, Monsignor Luna "for leaving us this legacy".

The presentation of the book was also made within the framework of the 50 Year of the Foundation of the University of Azuay, in one of its missions of integration into the community.
