The UDA strengthens ties with universities and Spanish associations

Between the 22 of June and the 4 of July, the Rector, Francisco Delgado, and the Director of International Relations, Cecilia Ugalde, traveled to five cities in Spain to analyze ways of cooperation with institutions of higher education in that country and sign agreements with universities , foundations and associations.

The trip began at the University of Valencia, which included a meeting with María Vicenta Mestre, the first Chancellor in more than 500 years of this educational institution, which also involved the Vice President for Internationalization, Carles Padilla, and the former Vice Chancellor of Postgraduate, Rafael Crespo.

Among other activities, we talked with the directors of the Marketing and Communication Master's Degree to advance the work of a possible double degree with the UDA.

There were also visits to the I2SysBio, the Institute of Integrative Systems Biology (a new research center on complex biological systems located in the science park of the University of Valencia in its Burjassot campus) and the Technical School of Engineering, to explore possible ways of cooperation.

In the same city, the representatives of the UDA visited the Technical School of Design Engineering of the Polytechnic University to analyze possible areas of cooperation.

In Madrid an agreement was signed with the Carolina Foundation so that UDA professors can apply for doctoral and postdoctoral scholarships in Spain.

In Salamanca, the Rector and the Director of International Relations attended the Ibero-American Conference on the SDGs within the framework of the 800 years of the founding of the University of Salamanca.

A specific cooperation agreement was also signed in this city with the Ibero-American University Postgraduate Association (AUIP) to grant scholarships to students and professors of universities associated with AUIP in the UDA and thus strengthen ties and increase the internationalization of our university.   

In addition, several meetings with its leaders were held for other possible cooperation paths, such as the completion of a university management course at the UDA and co-financing for a doctoral program with Andalusian and Ecuadorian universities led by the UDA in Ecuador.

In Seville, a framework cooperation agreement was signed with the Rector of the Pablo de Olavide University and a possible cooperation for doctoral programs was discussed, initially in the area of ​​business administration, with projection to other areas.

Finally, at the University of Córdoba, a meeting was held with the Director of International Programs to discuss the signing of a framework and specific agreement for cooperation in a doctoral program for UDA professors in various areas.

Cecilia Ugalde informed that thanks to visits to these Spanish higher education institutions, there are more agreements under review and new proposals are being worked on in the future.
