Talk about Law and the global

This June 19 in the Postgraduate Auditorium of the University of Azuay, the talk “The Law, the global and the construction of the present” took place, aimed at undergraduate and graduate students to encourage the debate on the production of knowledge from interdisciplinarity, criticism and field research.

The event was organized by the Faculty of Legal Sciences and the speaker was Luis Eslava, who works in the areas of International Law, International Legal Theory and History, Global Governance, Public Law, Law and Development, and Urban and Political Law.

The exhibitor's research focuses on the relationship between national and international legal orders, and the effects of this relationship in the current global order.

“The first problem we face when we think critically about Law and the global is that there is a division that sustains legal practice and Western thinking about the form and body of law, how they are organized and how we can understand the world ”, argued Eslava.

The talk culminated with an invitation for attendees to think about a career in social and legal research.
