Inauguration of the Service House of the University of Azuay
On Thursday 10 of May the House of Service to the Society of the University of Azuay was inaugurated, within the framework of the 50 years of our Institution.
The House of Services is composed of two different houses that will carry the surnames of the families that inhabited them: the Casa Pérez and the Casa Serrano.
In the first is the Accounting and Fiscal Support Center (NAF), the Architecture and Urbanism Office and a gallery.
In the second is the Business Observatory, the Gender Department, the Bioethics Committee, the Stimulation and Early Care Clinic, the Mediation Center and the Legal Clinic.
The inauguration was attended by civil, ecclesiastical, military and members of the university community: professors, administrative staff and students.
"We are in a heritage site that has been restored and that has been imagined. So that the University fits in the middle of the city, in the midst of its people, with a vision in which the University is not alien to society but is part of it, "said Francisco Salgado, Rector of the UDA.
After the Rector's speech, different agreements were signed between the University of Azuay and national and local institutions that had, among other objectives, to generate inter-institutional cooperation relations between the Superintendency of Companies and the University; promote the training of human talent in the health area; and deliver comprehensive medical training and education to students of the Pío XII Educational Unit.
"On behalf of the Municipality of Cuenca, we wish the best wishes for the services that these two houses, the Casa Serrano and the Casa Pérez, begin to offer today to the community of Cuenca. From the Municipality we will always be supporting the management of the University of Azuay, "said Marcelo Cabrera, Mayor of the city of Cuenca.
All those present were invited to see the facilities accompanied by the musical intervention of the Añoranzas Group of the Santa Inés Clinic and also to enjoy the exhibition "Art Expo Between Classrooms and Creative Exploration" made up of paintings by professors from the Faculty of Architecture Design and art.
